PLANS for a multi-million pound community sports centre at Tavistock College will go on display to the public on Monday. The development includes the complete refurbishment and extension of the sports hall to provide additional changing facilities, a state of the art fitness suite, new dance studio, a bar and bistro area, public reception area, squash courts and a seminar/meeting room. There are also plans to install an all-weather pitch and an eight-lane, all-weather synthetic surface athletic track. Colin Eves, Tavistock College principal, said the three-dimensional model of the proposed sports centre would go on display in the college from Monday, November 20. The company designing the all weather pitch and track is Sportslabs. Its managing director, Eric O'Donnell, will be available to discuss the proposals and answer questions between 12 and 3 pm. Also on display will be proposals for the future development of other facilities at the college. Visitors will be able to see plans of what the college may look like in future years when the whole premises have been replaced or refurbished. The school would welcome any views on these plans. Mr Eves said: 'This is our parents and students' consultation day, so parents, youngsters and any members of the public who are interested in the plans can come along and see the exciting developments that are being planned at the college, for the benefit of the whole community.' The college will be open between 10am until 6pm— the plans will be in the main reception area.
