THE sixth Neal Cousins Memorial Day contest between Okehampton?s football and rugby clubs takes place at Argyle?s Simmons Park ground on Sunday.
The day will commence at 12.30pm with Okehampton Argyle U15?s playing Okehampton RFC U15?s before the main contest kicks off at 2.30pm.
During the day there will be numerous sideshows including a bouncy castle, face-painting, football coaching school, lucky squares and Sun FX body tanning.
Hot food will be available all day supplied by the Okehampton Lions.
The prize draw will take place at 6.30pm in the marquee, followed by music from Mayfair and Nightsounds Roadshow.
This is the sixth memorial event to take place, alternating annually between the football and rugby clubs.
To date a total of £27,500 has been raised to help in the construction of a Leukaemia Unit at Exeter?s Wonford hospital and to help fund the running of the unit.
Although this year is a little more low-key with no auction and no main sponsorship advertising programme it is hoped as many people as possible will come along for an enjoyable day.
The event has always been very well supported by Okehampton?s residents and those from the surrounding area and the organisers hope this year will be no exception.
