OKEHAMPTON Sports and Fitness Festival had a record number of more than 1,900 participants this year.
It offered have-a-go-sessions and competitions to more than 45 events from football to sailing, walking to skateboarding, basketball to water polo, golf to bushcraft.
Stuart Lord, the manager of OCRA who organised the festival said: 'It was great to see so many people/groups/teams at events and hearing some fantastic stories of individuals having great fun trying new activities.
The final day saw over 800 people participating in Super Sporting Sunday through football, hockey, running, Thai boxing dancing, tennis, swimming, putting, art and much more.
The festival was supported by Okehampton Town Council, Devon County Council, Okehampton Hamlets, Active Village, Sported and local business.
Stuart said: 'After such a fantastic festival OCRA are looking forward to 2012 and possible Olympic themes such as finding the fastest person in the Okehampton area. We are also keen to hear from people how we can develop this festival that has great local interest and also attracts people from Devon and across the South West.'

Stuart Lord added: 'Everyone's had a lot of fun and we have had a great turnout. The whole week's been fantastic. The turnout for every event has been sensational.
'The rounders was a lot of fun, we had a great amount of people play and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had fifty pairs at the badminton. It's been brilliant.'
Muay Thai kickboxing teacher Steve Pender was at the event to help promote kickboxing classes: 'We've been giving classes in local villages,' he said. 'It's been going really well, and we're especially happy with how the sessions in Northlew are going. We have 15 children up there involved, and it's great for them, to give them the chance at this sport.'
n The OCRA Sportsweek Football Tournament saw 40 teams entered in separate men's, women's or veterans competitions.
There was a great festival atmosphere with teams made up of friends and also from football clubs from all over Devon.
The veterans saw Okehampton emerge triumphant with a team led by Neil Clift. The women's tournament was hard fought with Exeter winning through against Alphington — the Exeter team included two West Devon girls Sian and captain Siobhan Aslett.
