A CHAGFORD holiday firm have teamed up with a West Devon charity to sponsor their very special Christmas cards, which this year have been designed by renowned illustrator Quentin Blake. Helpful Holidays are sponsoring the Christmas cards produced by Farms for City Children, which reproduces Blake's cover artwork for the new Michael Morpurgo book On Angel Wings. Farms for City Children, based at Iddesleigh, is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year. The charity was founded by children's writer Morpurgo and his wife Clare at Nethercott Farm in 1976. They now have three working farms, where the charity aims to develop the potential of children from urban areas by offering them a week in the countryside working together on the land. The children get involved in all aspects of farm life. They discover teamwork and the joys of the natural world and gain an unforgettable experience, stretching them physically, intellectually and emotionally. Helen Hayes of Helpful Holidays said: 'We are thrilled to be able to sponsor this worthwhile charity. We hope the cards will be a great success and will raise lots of money for Farms for City Children.' Cards cost £6.50 for ten including package and postage and can be ordered from the charity's website — http://www.farmsforcitychildren.org">www.farmsforcitychildren.org
