HAVE you ever fancied being a spinner? Not a Liverpudlian folk musician but part of a centuries-old tradition that has always flourished on Dartmoor. If so, then the Sticklepath spinning group is keen to hear from you. With the recent revival of knitting, it is still often difficult to obtain really high quality wools, so living in an area with a ready supply of fleeces, the obvious answer is to make your own ? if you know how. The Sticklepath group has many experienced spinners willing to pass on their skills and experience to new members and teach anyone how to be part of the full cycle from sheep to woolly jumper. Anyone interested in joining is welcome to contact the group?s organiser, Doris Nethercott, for further details on 01837 840774.
