A CHARITY shop's window has been restored to its former glory after years of weather and vandal damage.
The manager of Jewson's in Tavistock, Steve Wickett, offered to donate specialist paint while local plumber Pete Green brought his boxwood bossing sticks and dressers to tease out and augment the damaged lead above the bay window.
Lez Parker, RSPCA shop manager, expressed her appreciation for the generosity of Jewson's and Pete Green in providing materials and services free.
She said: 'By donating time and materials these traders have saved us a considerable sum which can be used to care for animals, for which we are very grateful.
'We are well supported by people in Tavistock who donate our stock and buy goods from the shop.
'Without all this, and our volunteers, we would be unable to carry on helping unfortunate animals.'
The shop is open from 9.30am or 10.15am to 4pm every day except Sundays.
