A CHANCE to see a traditional old Dartmoor farm and its animals is on offer as Pizwell Farm opens its gates to the public this month.

The Martin family are welcoming visitors to Pizwell Farm on June 17, to view the farm and the old buildings which are hundreds of years old.

There will be Dartmoor ponies, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs and ducks to view and tractors for the children , see a sheep shearing demonstration and learn how the farm runs.

There will also be an optional farm walk, the Pizwell Duck Race and lots of stalls with local crafts, plants and the farm's naturally reared beef and free tea and cake all in the big barn.

The farm will be open from 1pm to 5pm, there will be a barbecue or visitors can bring their own picnic.

Admission to the farm is £1 for adults and children free. Dogs must be kept on a short lead and visitors must wear appropriate clothing for the weather.

Anyone who requires disability parking, wants to bring a group or has any queries can contact Sue Martin on 01822 880223.

The farm will be sign posted from Postbridge. For Sat Nav purposes the postcode is PL20 6TN.
