CORNWALL Council is proposing to reduce the existing 40mph speed limit to a 30mph speed limit by virtue of streetlighting on the A388 Launceston Road and to introduce a new prohibition of motor vehicles restriction at Florence Hill, Callington.

Alongside the construction of a new development off the A388 Launceston Road it is proposed to reduce the speed in accordance with the Highways Act 1980, Section 278 agreement.

The prohibition of motor vehicles at Florence Hill is proposed due to problems with rat running.

The scheme objective is to reduce traffic speeds in the vicinity of the new development and it is now open for consultation.
