THE existing book group in Bere Alston is full and has a waiting list, so a new group is being set up, called The Bere Alston 2nd Book Group.
It is specifically for anyone aged 50 or over and meetings will be held in members' homes on the second Monday of each month, at 2pm. Although based in Bere Alston, people are welcome to join from further afield.
The group will discuss a book that everyone has chosen and has been reading during the previous month, hearing what others say about the same book and sharing reading experiences, as well as talking about literature generally, and enjoying a social afternoon over a cup of tea or coffee.
The Book Group has been set up by Time for Life which works to assist people over 50 who have become socially isolated. Where there is a need for extra activities and groups in an area, the Time for Life programme offers support to get things started.
Further information is available from Susan Pike on 01822 840827 or by leaving contact details on the Time for Life phone number 0845 3047267, or email [email protected]">[email protected]
