STAFF at Tavistock Tyres will be helping to raise money with a series of fundraising activities for Tavistock Community Football Club (TCFC) Specials — a football team for young people and adults with physical or mental disabilities.
Tim Schmid, manager of Tavistock Tyres, which is located on Plymouth Road Industrial Estate, said: 'We know Allen Lewis, who founded TCFC Specials, very well and have helped raise cash for a number of worthy causes supported by him in the past.
'When we heard about TCFC Specials, we were very keen to help in any way we could. We look forward to working with the team on various fundraising schemes in 2010 and into 2011.
TCFC Specials is part of Tavistock Community Football Club and trains at Tavistock College. It now has more than 30 members, as well as five coaches.
Allen said: 'I would like to say a big "thank you" to Tim and the team at Tavistock Tyres for sponsoring TCFC Specials. They often back my charity work and bonds with local businesses like this are great for community spirit.
'Being part of the club has made a huge difference to the lives of many young people. The money raised by Tavistock Tyres will go towards a new kit for the team, as well as travelling to Ability Counts football tournaments around the country.'
