AROUND 180 refugees from all over the world descended onto Bere Ferrers last Saturday (June 23) to enjoy a special picnic.
Refugees came to the village via train from Plymouth for the event on the recreation field, organised by local charities West Devon Safe Haven, supporting Syrian refugees in West Devon, and Students and Refugees Together charity (START), hosting the event for refugee families from Devon and Cornwall.
The family day out saw people enjoy a two-mile walk, sunshine, food, games and dancing.
