THIS Sunday will mark the anniversary of the first letterbox meet, which began in 1978.

Thirty-six years ago the first meet was held at the Forest Inn, and on Sunday the 70th Biannual Letterbox Meet will be held at Lee Moor Village Hall from 10am to 4.30pm.

During the event a number of charity letterbox walks will be for sale, the Dartmoor Letterboxing 100 club will be there for registering new members, and the Dartmoor Society will be selling its Christmas cards along with promoting the society.

Local businesses will be setting up stalls at the event, plus photogapher Rob Hutchinson will be there with a display of more than 200 images, along with hand finished photo cards.

There is also a special 'one day stamp' to be collected along with many other one day and travelling stamps which are brought along for the keen collectors.

Refreshments will be available at the village hall during the day.
