FITNESS instructor Emma Jefferies, from South Zeal, has pounded 26.2-miles of pavement in aid of breast cancer charities.

On May 13, Emma was joined by friends to take on the London Moonwalk — a midnight walking marathon through the streets of London.

Organised by Walk the Walk — the largest grant making breast cancer charity in the UK — the event draws in thousands of men and women each year, armed in flamboyant bras and costumes.

Donned in 1920s inspired bras, Emma and her team mates Claire Bader, Carys Goodright and Emma Wills, completed the walk in 7 hours.

The ladies, some of whom work at Coads Green Primary School, would like to thank all their sponsors for helping them raise over £1,000 for the charity.

Emma said: ‘I would recommend this event to anybody who wants an active challenge, 15,000 people walking the streets of London at night in bras is quite a sight, not to mention the incredible amount of money that is raised in doing so.

‘Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me!’

Walk the Walk is a grant making charity, which means that everybody taking part in the challenges is raising money that will be granted to various breast cancer charities and organisations which help people suffering with breast cancer and their families.
