Devon and Exeter senior three Morchard Bishop 7 South Zeal Utd 0 SOUTH Zeal competed well with champions Morchard Bishop for an hour on Saturday. However, they struggled in the last third of the game as several players, who gave their all, tired having not played a full 90 minutes all season. Zeal started well and were coping well with the Morchard forwards and creating chances of their own but went behind after 15 minutes when they gave away a soft penalty. Redd Cann and Darren Gilbert worked tirelesly in the Zeal mid-field and both went close to equalising but Zeal went two down when Morchard were presented with a soft goal after a clearance fell to one of their forwards on the edge of the six yard area. Garry Smith was leading the line well for Zeal and was unlucky not to reduce the deficit for Zeal just before half time when a 25 yard shot beat the Morchard keeper but just didn't dip enough to drop into the net. For 15 minutes of the second half Zeal defended well with Lee Gilbert and Steve Pillivant outstanding but as the game went on the home side took control of the game and scored another five goals, three coming in the final 15 minutes. However, Zeal never stopped working and all the players that took part never stopped competing. South Zeal Utd are away to Kentisbeare on May 10.
