A ONE-DAY road closure will be in operation between Dry Bridge Cross and Week Cross, outside ?Hedgeways?, South Zeal next week.

The road will be closed on Wednesday, August 11, so SWW can carry out water hydrant works.

An alternative route will be in place from Dry Bridge Cross via the old A30 to Fire Stone Cross, minor road to East Week Cross and on to Week Cross and vice-versa.

l The road between Bridestowe village and the A386 at Shortacombe will be closed off to through traffic between Leawood House and Shortacombe on a number of occasions in coming months.

The stretch of road will be closed to through traffic on repeated occasions during a two-month period, beginning Thursday, August 12, for water mains rehabilitation works.

An alternative route is set to be put in place from Bridestowe via the old A30 to Sourton Down, and then the A386 to Shortacombe, to the Fox and Hounds Inn.

Access to properties will be maintained as much as possible from one end or the other but if problems arise contact the local services office in Okehampton on 01837 52773.

l Roadworks are also planned in Hatherleigh later this month. South Street will be closed off to through traffic and vehicular access to properties will be restricted.

The road is expected to be closed for ten days from Tuesday, August 17 for SWW mains water rehabilitation work. The diversion route will be via Bridge Street and High Street.

A 50-metre section of road will be closed off between house number 12 and 14 in Park Road, Hatherleigh for one day.

The closure to allow decayed electricity poles to be replaced will take place on Wednesday, August 18.

A diversion will be in operation between Market Street, South Street, Victoria Road and vice-versa.
