Cullompton Colts 56

Tavistock Colts 14

IT was a long way to travel to get beaten but Tavistock can take a lot of positives from this match. The forwards matched their opponents in the lineouts and rucks and the backs manufactured two tries against a strong defence.

Centre Doug Lloyd?s aggressive tackling in Cullompton?s 22 caused thae ball to spill, and alert chasing saw him beat their

players to the touchdown, which was converted by Mike Rowe.

Tavistock?s second try came after half-time when scrum half Alex Moy took a quick penalty. The ball passed through two pairs of hands to find Mike Rowe in space to crash over from a metre out.

The opposition?s ten tries came mainly from good ball movement and good support work, despite some sound Tavistock tackling, especially from man of the match full back Tom Vanstone, who tackled everything within reach.

No 8 Gorman gained yardage with some sniping runs from the base of the scrum.
