WHEN Mike Tremeer started working in 1979, a semi detached house in Okehampton could be yours for less than £20,000 and flared trousers and platform shoes were all the rage. A residential property specialist, Mike started his legal career in Okehampton when he joined Burd Pearse and continued as part of the team following merger with Stones Solicitors in 1999. Clients and business contacts joined partners and staff of Stones on Monday, December 6, at Okehampton Rugby Club to say ?goodbye? to Mike who is retiring to Spain in the New Year. Stones? senior partner, Hugh Winterbotham, said: ?Mike has been an asset to the firm and is held in high regard by Stones, clients and contacts alike. ?He is also an extremely popular and well known member of the community. He will be missed by all of us. We wish him very best wishes for the future.? During the reception Philip Bailey, Stones partner at Okehampton introduced Andrew Luxton, the new member of his Okehampton team who has been working alongside Mike to ensure the smooth hand-over of ongoing matters. After 12 years training and working in Okehampton until 1999, Andrew has recently been working alongside John Dobie, in Stones? Great Torrington office and has gathered a great deal of experience in residential property matters.
