TAVISTOCK struggled from the start. Vanessa Davey cleared up most attacks and it was a solo effort from Rebecca Rose after a goal keeping error that put Tavistock in the lead.

Staddiscombe got the equaliser just before half-time because of poor defending.

Tavistock started well in the second half with Hannah Smith getting more involved but Robyn Hammond and Rose had to come into defence to help out. Tavistock lost all shape and Frankie Foster had to pull off some good saves.

Rose made a solo run and put Tavistock in the lead for the second time but in the dying minutes Staddiscombe equalised.

CAPTAIN Chloe Bassett celebrated her 13th birthday by being awarded girl of the match and the whole team played superbly to win against a strong side.

Kim Davey opened the scoring after ten minutes of hard work by Bassett, Joy Page and Sarah Barrett.

Lipson could not break through and Heidi Davies scored to put Tavistock two up. Tamsin Bryant at left back had an excellent game and confidently took the ball upfield. Davies slotted home again shortly before half-time. The second half saw some fantastic passing moves and Davey again showed her excellence by battling against three players to put the ball in the back of the net.

Tavistock conceded two goals in five minutes after a change of formation but had a good win.

WITH the larger pitch and goalmouths, Tavistock struggled from the start. They were able to field nine girls and although still seven a side were struggling with fitness.

Newcomer Stephanie Morgan showed great promise and made important clearances but Rhianne Parsons, who was closed down quickly, got few chances. Captain Louise Galway tried to keep her team focused but they were 4-0 down at half-time.

The second half was not much better but Della Moloney in goal pulled off some tremendous saves to earn her player of the match. Activate scored another four in the second half.
