Devon and Junior Minor U18s Cambridge
Tavistock AFC U18s 2
AFC Southway 2
TAVISTOCK started in the ascendency and scored within 15 minutes from one of many excellent Andre Rodukov attacks down the right wing. Rodukov beat two defenders and crossed accurately to allow Ben Pridham to slot the ball in from the edge of the six yard box.
This seemed to galvanise Southway and thanks to some lacklustre defending they equalised thanks to a far post header. Tavistock failed to pick up their game and the opposition then scored from a well taken corner to lead at half-time.
Throughout the game Southway were the stronger in the challenge and it was not until Tavistock decided to "play" that they were able to make inroads into the opposition defence. The home side pressed forward but were disappointed when they thought an appeal for a penalty was turned down by the referee.
Nathan Alford played one of his best games of the season allowing the front players to find space and attack the oppostion goal. With 20 minutes to go a Jamie Court free kick slipped through the defensive line and Josh Robins flicked the ball with aplomb past the keeper to level the game.
Tavistock, with renewed belief continued to bombard the Southway net and a great ball from the right wing from Ben Pridham found Josh Robins with the keeper to beat but the keeper saved and the ball deflected wide.
