MEAVY School PTA recently held an Auction of Promises and, on behalf of the committee, I would like to thank all those who contributed to its success.
Firstly, to the staff, governors, parents and friends of the school, who either donated or bid for lots. Secondly, to Tim Shobrook who gave up his evening to act as auctioneer. His contribution to the auction played a huge part in its success, especially when he appeared to have people bidding against themselves!
Finally, thanks must go to the following organisations who generously donated an excellent variety of lots; Airtopia Balloon flights, the Countryman?s Weekly, Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary, Woodlands Leisure Park, the Garden House, Plymouth Argyle Football Club, the Copthorne Hotel, the Two Bridges Hotel, the National Marine Aquarium, Bodyzone Health Club, Knightstone Restaurant, the Greehouse Visitor Centre, A G Spreadbury Dental Laboratory, Tavistock Tyre and Exhaust Services Ltd, Debenhams, Dartmoor Wildlife Park, Buckland Abbey, Morwellham Quay, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Sorley Tunnel Adventure World, Cannons Health Club, Westcountry Wedding Cars and Stretch Limousines.
The fantastic sum of £1,149.25 was made for PTA funds.

ON behalf of Tavistock and District branch of the RNLI (lifeboats) I would like to thank everyone who supported us at our coffee morning on October 17.
I am very grateful to all the helpers and members of the public and I am pleased to say the sum of £409 was raised for the RNLI funds.
