A CORN snake has been found by a West Devon veterinarian while walking his dog on the moors.

Mark Tucker, from Castle Vets at Lamerton, was walking his dogs on Whitchurch Down when he found the two foot long snake, which he said was tame and used to being handled. He took the snake home and is now looking after it.

Mr Tucker said: 'My family already keep snakes so we can take care of it until the owner is found. We assume that it has been living wild during the warm weather as it has a few minor injuries but these are healing well. We hope the owner will see this and come forward.'
