THERE were smiles aplenty at Boasley Cross Primary School last weekend as staff and pupils hosted a reunion party to celebrate the school’s 90th anniversary.

Students and staff celebrated on Saturday, July 15 by inviting former staff and pupils to join their garden party.

Organised by The Friends of Boasley Cross School (FOBCS) committee, the reunion gave the community an opportunity to come together and share experiences of the school.

Visitors enjoyed looking around the school and seeing the work of current pupils as well as observing a display on the school’s history.

The FOBCS sold refreshments as well as souvenirs of the anniversary in a bid to raise funds for the school. In total they raised £580.

Currently, the school is aiming to create an outdoor classroom area with some level of weather protection to enable lessons to take place outdoors.

A school spokesperson said: ‘The teachers of Boasley Cross are keen to stimulate the creativity of the children and make the most of the fantastic location of the school.’

‘Staff of the school would like to thank everyone who made it on the day and to FOBCS for all their time and effort in preparing for this special event for the school.’
