A TAVISTOCK dental surgery is celebrating after being recognised as an Investor in People.
Abbey Mead Dental Practice has been given the award for demonstrating a clear commitment to training and development, equipping its staff with key skills and vocational qualifications.
The dental practice, operated by husband and wife team Dr Ann Cummins and Dr Paddy McVeigh, has seen an unprecedented rise in patient visits over the past 12 months.
'We are delighted to be recognised as an Investor in People,' said Dr Cummins.
'Our goal has always been to make the practice the very best it can be in terms of clinical standards and customer service.'
In making the award to Abbey Mead Dental Practice, assessor Carol Yeoman said: 'This small organisation has made swift progress since committing to Investors in People in October 2001.
'There exists a strong ethos of patient care and this is of great importance to the day-to-day work of the staff,' she added.
Abbey Mead Dental Practice was supported through the Investor in People process by Business Link for Devon and Cornwall.
