I WATCHED in horror last week, as children and parents battled their way to school through our beautiful park.
The ice on the paths has always proved an obstacle to a safe journey but this morning was particularly bad, and left me wondering why is this not dealt with as a matter of routine. We have council works in their van, in the park daily. Surely they could throw a little grit around and prevent any slips and trips.
I am more than aware of the cuts in the budget and the savings still to be made, but this is a small act in the name of safety.
As we are forced to use the park as our route, due to the lack of a closer drop off point, surely it's not too much to ask?
