EIGHTEEN children from Tavistock Community Primary School, recently took the Bikeability Cycling Proficiency Course and every one of them passed the level two test.
Bikeability is a national initiative, aimed at children aged 10 and above, and is designed to give them the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today's roads.
To gain their award, the children were instructed on how to ride their bikes to the Government-approved national standard for cycle training. The level one training was based on the school site, but level two involved supervised cycling around nearby roads.
Head instructor Tony Walters was impressed by the 18 pupils, and said their 'responsible attitude and excellent listening was a credit to the school'.
