THIS was played at Barnstaple in cold but otherwise ideal conditions and it did not take long for North Okes to get into the swing of things.
Robert Steptoe broke from the back of a ruck to link up with Andrew North to score. Conversion by North.
The next try came from Darcy Heard who used his speed to make a good clean break around Barnstaple's defence to score in the corner. Conversion by North.
The third try came from a strong run from Luke Miller joining in the three quarter line from fullback and cutting through to score. Conversion by North. The next try again came from a good break by Heard who was well tackled but got his pass away to Andy Fishleigh who powered over for a try. Conversion by North. This left the half time score at 0-28.
North Okes sat back at the beginning of the second half and let Barnstaple back in with two tries, one of which was converted. This then spurred the away team back into the game. From a scrimmage centre field, the three quarters cut loose spinning the ball down through the line for Cameron Rickerby to score in the corner. Conversion by North.
