SIX-YEAR-OLD Jessica Shipp from Tavistock recently raised £238 for cancer charity, Little Princess Trust.

Jessica was at school when she first heard about the Little Princess Trust.

It is a charity that raises money to provide real hair wigs for children suffering with cancer.

Jessica’s mum Katrina said: ‘Jess was so moved that she came home from school and said that she wanted to raise some money to help them.’

Jessica decided to hold a cake sale and coffee morning in Tavy Toys, located in Tavistock Market.

She and her mum spent a whole day making cakes before taking them into the toy shop to be sold.

Katrina said that Jessica had worked extremely hard and received some generous donations from family, friends and local people.

In Jessica’s own words: ‘Cancer is a horrible disease.’

She said that she was ‘pleased as punch’ to have raised money for a charity which helps so many people.
