SIX students with Special Educational Needs from Tavistock College attended a sports day held at Ivybridge Community College with teaching assistants Julie Humphreys, Sylvia Preece and Nikki Sheehan.

 Members of by TASS (Tavistock Area Support Services) transported them to the venue.

The day was part of the national 'Playground to Podium Project' and run by Active Devon County Sports Partnership with the help of qualified staff, coaches and volunteers.

Students choose three events from athletics, boccia (a target ball sport belonging to the same family as bowls), football, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.

The six, Tom Worth, Jack Worth, Kieran Hurford, Jess Dingle, Ed Larkin and Marnie Pemberton, all who took part had a fantastic day meeting students from other schools and participating in a variety of sports.
