TWO Tavistock businesses will go head to head at Crowndale Football Pitch next month in aid of a local boy with autism. Tavistock Tyres will play The Union Inn at a game of six-a-side football on October 29 at 2pm for Paul Lewis?s Son-Rise Programme. Then at the Red and Black Club at 4pm a guess the weight of the Atlantic Giant Pumpkin, a children?s fancy dress competition, and many prize draws will be on offer. Paul Lewis is autistic which means he has problems communicating and relating to the world around him. He is part of the American Son-Rise Programme which he does in his specially built playroom. The pumpkin was donated by Calstock man Rod Hobbs who owns Tamar Valley Growers. Rod built Paul?s playroom for the Lewis? saving the family £8,000.
