TWO donations to Buckland Monachorum Village Hall means that tables and chairs can be purchased in time for the drama group's annual pantomime.

The hall committee has been raising money for some time through coffee mornings, quiz evenings and jumble sales. There have also been donations from West Devon Borough Council and private individuals.

The November coffee morning was a momentous occasion when Barbara Worth, the current manageress of the Yelverton Co-op, went along and presented a cheque for £1,100 on behalf of the Co-operative Society.

Hall Chairman, Jim Knight, expressed thanks for such a generous grant from a society renowned for its generosity to groups in all parts of the country.

Later in the morning, the hall was presented with a cheque for £200 from the Harrowbeer Airfield Interest Group which was another great gesture, said Mr Knight.
