LADIES from West Devon are being offered the opportunity of free singing lessons in Plymouth.

Those who have always wanted to sing in harmony but have never had the opportunity, or who have felt too shy to do so, are being offered the lessons.

A series of six workshops are to be sponsored by the Plymouth Mayflower Chorus, who have singers from all over West Devon and Dartmoor.

The workshops will be run by musical director and vocal coach Sarah Gill on Mondays, from 6.45pm to 7.30 pm, at Stoke Damerel Primary School, Collingwood Road, Plymouth, starting on September 7.

Sarah will be teaching ladies breathing techniques and vocal exercises, before getting them to sing in four-part harmony.

The singers do not need to have any knowledge in reading music, but will need to have a good ear for tune.

The lessons will be suitable for people who have never sung in a group before, those who have previously sung in a choir and people who want to try something different. For more information, contact Susie on 07805 188376, or Sarah on 01548 811255.
