CALLINGTON Singers were so well received during their recent tour of Southern Austria that they have been invited back to perform again.

The choir performed three concerts to audiences in the cathedrals of Klagenfurt, Graz and the Church of Hermigor under the direction of Graham Williams and Gill Quilliam with organ accompaniment by Simon Brett.

Their repertoire included works by Rutter, Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart amongst others and they provided the music for the celebration of mass during the Corpus Christi celebrations at Graz.

Such was the success of the concerts that the choir was invited back to sing again in Graz and Klagenfurt.

The Callington Singers will shortly be hosting a guest choir for a joint charity concert in aid of Shelterbox at St Mary Magdelene Church in Launceston on Saturday. The guest choir is 'Tarantara' from Stratford upon Avon, with whom the Callington Singers performed in Stratford last year.

The concert begins at 7pm. Tickets, priced at £5, are available on the door or by ringing 01579 370323.

The choir meets on Thursday nights at 7.15pm at Callington Primary School and anyone who would like to become a member would be most welcome.

There are no auditions and the ability to read music is not essential.
