A PICNIC in the park is being held in Simmons Park, Okehampton, next week to support Rethink Week, which aims to challenge ideas about severe mental illness.
In Okehampton, Rethink has a day centre service providing a number of activities and is also working in partnership with Okehampton Community College and Plymouth College to form educational links, as well as the Wren Trust.
Rethink provides a ?supporting people? programme, a government initiative, which exists to help people in the community.
Alongside this, the group aims to develop an outreach project.
The theme of the picnic in the park is ?representation?.
The event takes place between 12.30-2pm, on Tuesday, June 24, in Simmons Park, or in the Old Theatre Project if wet.
Rethink is the largest mental health charity and largest voluntary sector service provider in mental health in the UK.
