CAMPAIGNERS against a wind farm in West Devon will be encouraging people to go silent this Saturday, July 30. It will be part of a silent promise auction to be held at Spreyton Village Hall from 6pm to 9pm. The event is to raise funds to pay for expert technical advice in preparation for the action group?s rebuttal of a planning application for the wind farm ? Den Brook Valley Action Group is fighting to stop between 10 and 19 wind turbines being built close to North Tawton and Bow, within sight of Dartmoor National Park. It is expected the application will be made within the next few weeks. Lots at the auction include a pedigree Weaner Gilt pig; a meal for two with a bottle of wine at the Sandy Park Inn, Chagford; a hair make-over; a tour of the House of Commons followed by tea with Geoffrey Cox MP; a sightseeing flight from Dunkeswell airstrip; clay pigeon shooting; a trailer load of well rotted horse manure; two signed and framed photographs by Dartmoor photographer Peter White, and golf with buggy and a meal for two at the Ashbury Hotel and golf course.
