THE 60th anniversary of the end of the second world war will be the focus of this year?s annual Festival of Remembrance for the county of Devon held in Exeter. The Okehampton branch standard will again be on parade for the ?County Muster of Standards? and it is hoped that many Royal British Legion members and friends will take this opportunity to pay their respects to the sacrifices and hardships endured by everyone during that terrible conflict. The evening is sure to be of special significance to all those with memories of that time. The festival is on Thursday November 10 in the Great Hall at the University of Exeter, starting at 7.30pm. A coach will take branch members and friends to the event, departing More?s newsagent, Fore Street, at 6pm and returning at approximately 10.30pm. Tickets are £5 each. Those wishing to attend should add their names to the list on display at the RBL branch club in Station Road or call the branch secretary on 01837 840757 by not later than Sunday, October 9.
