CROWDS of visitors flocked to Exeter last week to see what this year's Devon County Show had on offer, and with prize winning cheese, cattle and displays, the ribbons were in abundance for West Devon.

Thousands of people swarmed through the gates of the Westpoint Arena on the opening day to take in the smell of sausages, see the livestock, shop 'til they dropped and soak up the sun.

On what had been the hottest day of the year so far, visitors were spoiled for choice for things to see and do.

As well as extensive livestock judging, visitors were treated to show jumping, axe racing, metalwork displays, dog shows, craft stands, vintage car, motorbike and steam engine exhibits, intricate flower displays and a wealth of food and drink.

When tired from walking the many avenues of trade stands, various events were on offer including music and non-stop big-ring entertainment.

The three-day show drew people in from all over the UK to see the prize-winning animals and exhibitions, and at the end of each day visitors went home with bags of goodies, smiles and weary feet.
