ON behalf of the people of Tavistock I write to you to express our shock, horror and sadness at the bombings in central London on July 7. The people of London should not have to cope with such deliberate carnage. It is beyond comprehension that anyone should wish to create such havoc and sorrow in the daily lives of innocent people. We in Tavistock feel great sympathy with those in London who were injured and bereaved last week. I have immense admiration for the courage shown by Londoners. The caring work by the emergency services to help the injured and families of those bereaved is beyond praise.
