CHAGFORD residents will have the opportunity to view and comment on a proposed development at Bretteville Field, Chagford, at a public exhibition. Plans and details will be on display of the proposed development submitted by Dennis Wilkinson Ltd, which comprises sheltered housing for the local elderly, affordable homes for local people and families, a new nursing home, access and car parking spur, together with a proposed highway widening of Bretteville Close. An outline planning application was submitted to Dartmoor National Park Authority last week. The development would comprise 25 sheltered housing units, eight affordable homes and a 40-bed nursing home. The greenfield site has been identified by the local authority as suitable for development, but previous applications to build on the site have been rejected. The exhibition is being held at Endecott House, High Street, Chagford today (Thursday) from 4.30pm to 8pm and tomorrow (Friday) from 9am to 3pm. Residents in Chagford and the surrounding area are being encouraged to come along and give their response to the proposed development. Previous development projects undertaken by Mr Wilkinson include new housing at Bretteville Close, Chagford.
