Bickleigh Seconds 3
Okehampton Argyle Seconds 5
OKEHAMPTON dominated early play and the home side defended well by getting bodies in the way.
Rob Sandercock teased all afternoon and was too quick for his marker. After a jump in tackle he fired in low under the keeper from a tight angle for Okehampton?s first.
Sandercock again set up Okehampton?s second when he unselfishly squared the ball across to Tim Shaw for a simple tap in after another fine left wing run.
Okehampton extended their lead again with Shaw outpacing his marker before firing home with the visitors looking comfortable. Bickleigh were then awarded a penalty after a clumsy tackle by Martyn Letchford and Okehampton conceded a second when Roger Voaden dwelled on the ball and was disposessed. From a fine cross the home striker headed home at the far post.
Bickleigh took advantage of a shell shocked Okehampton and got an underserved equaliser with a high looping cross brushing the bar before dropping kindly for the striker to tap home.
From the kick off Okehampton swept forward and Shaw completed his hat-trick with a brave diving header to restore the advantage.
In the final moments Nick Drew confirmed the points for Okehampton with a close range effort beating the keeper off the underside of the bar.
This Saturday home to Newtown, 3pm kick-off at Simmons Park.
