A FORMER Okehampton College pupil is hoping to go to the Seychelles next summer to continue studying whale sharks in their natural environment, having recently obtained her marine biology degree.
Bryony Stocking, 21, graduated from the University of Plymouth with a degree in marine biology and coastal ecology.
As part of her studies, Bryony spent last summer in the Bahamas at the Bimini Biological Research Station researching lemon sharks under the guidance of world renowned shark expert Dr Sam Gruber. Her research involved the catching, recording, handling and dietary examination of these sharks.
Bryony is now taking a year out before hopefully continuing her studies by travelling to the Seychelles next June.
She attended Halwill Primary School and Okehampton College, and lived in Okehampton before leaving for university.
