TATE St Ives is launching groups in Callington and Launceston as part of a pioneering informal adult education project across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The search is on for people of all ages and backgrounds to join in and share their thoughts and opinions on art.

Based on the idea of a book group, the Look Group project is establishing a network of 22 community groups throughout the Cornish region.

It will bring together local people with a shared interest, who will meet up on a regular monthly basis to discuss art, artists and any ideas they have had, heard of, or simply wish to talk about with like-minded people in an informal and enjoyable way.

Joining in and being a part of this project is completely free. Each group will have up to 15 members, meeting when and where they wish in a style that suits them best.

Supported by the learning team at Tate St Ives, look groups will enjoy access to the Tate Collection and exclusive events designed to stimulate discussion and conversations about art. Each group will build up a relationship with Tate St Ives, giving their thoughts, ideas and opinions concerning the public programming of events for the gallery.

These relaxed meet and greets will be headed by a member of Tate St Ives Learning Team to discuss together the future of the group and the ambitions of the project.
