A GROUP of productive ladies from Callington who sell their wares to raise money for charity have received a boost from Tesco so they can continue their work.
The Callington Village Sewing Group were given £250 from Tesco to purchase materials so they can keeping sewing, knitting and crocheting.
To date the ladies have donated money to the Irakoze orphanage in Burundi, Africa, to the Callington Village gardening club to purchase plants and bulbs to make the estate more attractive and nature friendly and to ShelterBox and the Children's Hospice South West. So far they have raised in excess of £2,000.
The group will be making and selling items at a Children's Hospice event at Coombes Head Farm, Lewannick in November.
Members expressed thanks to Tesco for 'caring about our community.'
