DJM U18s Cambridge
Tavistock CFC 7
Keyham Kolts 2
TAVISTOCK started In a quiet manner and allowed the visitors too much space in attack. This was soon sorted out and Keyham rarely caused the defence any problems for the rest of the half.
Tavistock's first goal came from some two touch passing in midfield from Dean Southgate and man of the match Andre Rodukov putting striker Sam Turner in space and his shot took a deflection off a defender and ended up in the net.
An injury to skipper Josh Robins meant a reshuffle and change of formation suited the home team as they immediately started to cause the defence numerous problems.
The second goal was dispatched by Rodukov under the approaching keeper and the third from an excellent run and shot from out wide by Matt McClung.
However, Keyham came back with a penalty blasted past stand in keeper Ben Pridham. This did not deter the Tavistock team and it was not long before McClung had his second and Tavistock's fourth after a goal mouth melee.
Scott Doidge and Joel Blatchford continued to keep Keyham out with the superb Matt White putting in a flawless performance in central defence. Jake Case at right back played perhaps his best game of the season.
Good performances from Jamie Court in midfield, Southcott and Turner were able to release the wingers Rodukov and McClung on a number of forays. From one of these Rodukov curled the ball in to the top corner from the edge of the area to make the half time score a leisurely 5-1.
The second half did not live up to the promise of the first as Keyham started to put some moves together and scored a second.
However Robins for Tavistock bagged a couple of goals in a half of sporadic positive play.
