WEST Devon folk-rock musician Seth Lakeman has been nominated for four awards at the BBC Radio Folk Awards 2007. The singer/songwriter from Yelverton is up for Folk Singer of the Year, Best Live Act, Best Traditional Track (for White Hare), and Best Album (for Freedom Fields). Last year Seth, 29, was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize for his album Kitty Jay, alongside well-established artists such as KT Tunstall and the Kaiser Chiefs. Seth said: 'I am delighted with the nominations, and it's really great to be nominated for four. 'I think it's wonderful that Radio 2 has supported this record in terms of air play. 'It's really nice to be up for four awards for this record. I am up against stiff competition, but it should be a fun night.' As Freedom Fields is a folk record Seth said it was brilliant that it has been recognised for being just that. The BBC Folk Awards 2007 event will be held at The Brewery in London on Monday, February 5. Seth will have to return from a tour in Canada to attend the glittering awards ceremony.
