BUDDING artists, or those who perhaps might want to take up the brush for the first time, may be interested in a new series of art sessions in Tavistock.
Art 4 Fun at the United Reformed Church in Tavistock have been running on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Leading the group is Thelma Newell, who trained at Bournemouth Teacher Training College with renowned artists Fred Yates and John Ward RA. Thelma then went on to Salisbury College of Art, specialising in pottery and embroidery.
The Art 4 Fun project has earned Thelma a third certificate from the Black Horse Venture, a scheme intended to encourage people with spare time to learn a new skill, ideally for the benefit of the community.
Signing for the new sessions will be on September 6. The classes run from 9.30am to 11.30am.
