United Services 3

TAVISTOCK A Men?s Hockey travelled to Plymouth expecting a tough match against the team one place below them in the League.

Tavistock got the start they needed ? Holland scored after only 10 minutes which took the home side by surprise.

Tavistock took control of the game in the first half, Cooley Jnr, Barrat Jnr and Holland had too much pace for the United Services midfield. Tavistock?s second goal came from a free hit just outside the home side?s D. The ball was struck in well from Andrews and Mackintosh was able to double the score.

Just before half time United Services scored, and goalkeeper Osbourn, who had little to do, was well beaten.

At the interval Tavistock needed to pick their game up for what would seem a long second half.

The home side now playing a more positive role put Tavistock under pressure. Tavistock still found a way through the opponents? defence and Mackintosh scored to make it 3-1.

Tavistock seemed to settle for the three points but United Services battled back and levelled the game minutes before the final whistle.

This was a good team performance from Tavistock and the defence of Cowan Snr, Rodda and Wood all played well.

Tavistock were unlucky not to get all three points from this match but after being well beaten by United Services last season Tavistock did well to come away with one point.
