TAVISTOCK College's Year 10 football team have made it to the semi-finals of the Plymouth Schools League competition.
Tavistock were drawn into a group with Estover Community College, Sir John Hunt Sports College, Eggbuckland and St Boniface and comfortably won every match.

Tavistock showed great quality in possession of the ball and created numerous chances, but it was striker Sam Hicks who particularly impressed with an excellent hat trick. The result was completed in the final minute when right back Kieran Alford ran down the wing and drilled the ball into the bottom corner.

Estover 1
AGAINST a physical and spirited Estover side the Tavistock team continued to play an excellent passing game under immense pressure. Striker Sam Hicks scored his second hat-trick of the tournament - including a superb 25 yard strike which went into the top corner of the goal.
Matt Davidson was a constant threat with his excellent dribbling at opposing defenders and Sam Northmore controlled midfield possession. It was an outstanding result and thoroughly deserved.

St Boniface's College 1
ST Boniface took the lead when a free kick rebounded into the net, leaving the score at 0-1 at half time.
Tavistock came back with four goals in the space of 15 minutes in the second half. Sam Hicks scored three while Matt Davidson superbly finished from the edge of the area and Ryan Moorhead completed the scoring. Central defenders Will Lane and Aaron Northmore showed great discipline and defensive skills.

TAVISTOCK went into the final group game against defending champions Eggbuckland needing a draw to qualify for the semi-finals. Tavistock dominated possession from the start and created great scoring opportunities and it was defender Aaron Northmore who came up for a corner to give Tavistock a 1-0 lead at half-time. This was followed by six second half goals from Sam Hicks(2), Corey Hancock, Matt Davidson, Will Hall and another Northmore strike.
Teacher Shaun Hulbert said: 'To qualify from the group with a 100% record is a fantastic achievement and leads the Year 10 football team with anticipation into the semi-finals after the Easter holidays.'
