SPORTS clubs and groups are being invited to share their history at an event promoting the history of sport in Okehampton this weekend.

Okehampton Community Archive has organised Okehampton's Sporting Past, an exhibition looking at how sport in the town has changed since 1900.

There will be displays and photographs, and the town's clubs are being asking to join the show with displays of their own. These could include photographs or club memorabilia, and the event provides a good chance to promote the club to new members.

The exhibition takes place on Saturday, October 6 in the Ockment Centre from 10am to 4pm. Refreshments will be available.

There will also be digital scanning and printing of photographs at the event, so if you have any historical photographs that you would like to be copied and included in the archive, they can be brought along on the day.
