A MOUNT Edgcumbe Estate round walk of four miles has been organised by Calstock Footpath Society this month.

Described by the leader as an 'amble', the walk starts at Maker Church with spectacular views of the Sound and beyond with the route taking participants down to Barn Pool and the Tamar.

Some paths and steps are of moderate ascent but no steep gradients or stiles are encountered.

The Edgcumbe National Collection of Camellias should be in full flower and the pace set will allow walkers to take in the collection and enjoy the varied views that the walk route offers.

The walk takes place on April 27.

Strong boots or shoes are recommended. The planned time allows for a short coffee break and a back-packed lunch.  This walk is unsuitable for dogs.

A donation of £2 is requested from non-members of the society.

Meet at Maker Church (SX 4459 5203) 11am.
