POLICE are asking people to make sure their premises are secure after a number of burglaries in the Launceston Road area of Callington.

Criminals are taking advantage of insecure doors and windows and on June 3, a mobile phone was stolen from one property and rings, a watch and laptop taken on June 7 from another. The first incident took place between 2.30am and 3.30am and the second between 9am and 11.15pm.

Also on June 3, an attempt was made to break into a property at Urban Terrace in the early hours of the morning.

Sgt Brett Phillips from Callington Police Station said: 'We would urge people to ensure that their properties are secure,' he said.

'There are various security kits on the market and the police can help with this.'

He said there had also been reports of a male/males being seen in people's gardens in the early hours of the morning. Anyone with information should call 08452 777444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
